Privacy Policy
Who we are
Goblin Forge is a desktop application developed and published by GardenAtDesk (ABN: 48 114 832 536), trading under the brand Goblinry. You can contact us at gardenatdesk@gmail.com.
This policy explains what data Goblin Forge does and does not handle. The short version: Goblin Forge is an offline-first tool, and we have deliberately built it so that we — the developer — do not receive your translation content through the application unless you deliberately choose to send it to us, for example in a support email or bug report.
The data we do NOT collect
Goblin Forge runs locally on your computer. We do not operate a server that your translation work passes through. Specifically, through normal use of the application, we do not collect, store, transmit to ourselves, or have any access to:
- Your source files, translation projects, or any text you translate (
.glp/.glspproject files stay on your machine) - Your translation memory, glossaries, or terminology libraries
- Your API keys
- Any usage analytics, telemetry, or tracking of how you use the application
There is no account system, no login, and no cloud sync operated by us.
Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) and third-party AI providers
Goblin Forge uses a "Bring Your Own Key" model. To use AI-assisted translation, you supply your own API key for a third-party provider (such as Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Moonshot AI (Kimi), or any other OpenAI-compatible service). Alternatively, you can connect a fully local model (for example via Ollama) so that no text ever leaves your computer.
- Your API key is stored locally on your own device and is used only to authenticate your requests to the provider you chose. We never receive it or store it. You are responsible for keeping your device and project files secure. Where supported in future, Goblin Forge may use the operating system's secure credential storage.
- When you use AI translation, your text is sent directly from your computer to the AI provider you selected. It does not pass through any server operated by us. We cannot see this traffic or its contents.
- Local models: if you choose to run a fully local model (for example via Ollama on your own machine), your text is processed entirely on your device and is not sent to any external provider at all — nothing leaves your computer.
- Your use of a third-party AI provider is governed by that provider's own privacy policy and terms, not ours. Depending on the provider and your account settings, the provider may retain, process, or use submitted data according to its own policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of whichever provider you choose:

We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, how these third-party providers handle data you send to them. These providers may be located in different countries (for example the United States, China, or Singapore), and data you send is subject to the laws and policies of those jurisdictions. That relationship is between you and them.
Support communications
If you contact us for support, we may receive the information you choose to include in your message, such as your email address, screenshots, logs, project excerpts, or diagnostic details. We use this information only to respond to your request and improve the application.
Purchase and platform data
If you buy Goblin Forge through Steam, your purchase is handled entirely by Valve Corporation (Steam). We generally receive aggregate sales, wishlist, and performance statistics that Steam provides to developers. We do not receive your payment details from Steam. Steam's handling of your data is governed by the Steam Privacy Policy.
If in future Goblin Forge is sold through other channels (for example a direct store), any payment processing will be handled by a third-party payment provider, and we will update this policy accordingly.
Children's privacy
Goblin Forge is a professional tool not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves (for example, if we add new distribution channels). The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.

自带密钥（BYOK）与第三方 AI 服务商

- 你的 API 密钥存储在你自己的设备本地，仅用于向你所选择的服务商验证你的请求。我们永远不会收到或存储它。你有责任保护好你自己的设备与项目文件的安全。未来在支持的情况下，Goblin Forge 可能会使用操作系统的安全凭据存储。
- 当你使用 AI 翻译时，你的文本会从你的电脑直接发送到你选定的 AI 服务商。它不经过任何由我们运营的服务器。我们无法看到这些流量或其内容。
- 本地模型：如果你选择运行完全本地的模型（例如在你自己电脑上运行的 Ollama），你的文本将完全在你的设备上处理，不会发送给任何外部服务商——任何内容都不会离开你的电脑。

购买与平台数据
如果你通过 Steam 购买 Goblin Forge，你的购买完全由 Valve Corporation（Steam） 处理。我们通常会收到 Steam 提供给开发者的汇总销售、愿望单与表现统计数据。我们不会从 Steam 收到你的支付信息。Steam 对你数据的处理受 Steam 隐私政策约束。
如果未来 Goblin Forge 通过其他渠道销售（例如直营商店），任何支付处理都将由第三方支付服务商负责，届时我们会相应更新本政策。
儿童隐私
Goblin Forge 是一款面向专业人士的工具，并非面向儿童设计。我们不会在知情的情况下收集任何人（包括儿童）的个人信息。
